The terms that govern your use of aihtax
Last updated: 25 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the aihtax website and services (the "Service"). By creating an account, accepting an invite, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
aihtax provides UK bookkeeping and Making Tax Digital (MTD) software tooling, provided by Sebastian Toke-Nichols, trading as aihtax. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean aihtax. Contact us via the support details provided in the product or at onboarding.
The Service helps you organise bookkeeping records, process receipts and bank data, and prepare or submit information related to HMRC MTD workflows you choose to run. Features may change over time. We may update, suspend, or withdraw parts of the Service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.
aihtax is software tooling, not a substitute for a qualified accountant, tax adviser, or solicitor. We do not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. HMRC connections depend on your credentials and HMRC availability. You remain responsible for the accuracy, timing, and compliance of any return or update you submit.
You must not:
We may suspend or terminate access, or remove content, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or the platform or other users are at risk.
Some features may be free; others may require a paid plan. Where fees apply, prices, billing periods, and renewal terms will be shown before you purchase. Unless stated otherwise, fees are in GBP and exclusive of VAT. Failure to pay may result in suspension of paid features.
We (and our licensors) own the Service, software, branding, and related intellectual property. You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.
How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. You must comply with applicable data protection law for any personal data you upload.
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the product or by email where practicable. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for lost profits, filing penalties, tax assessments, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
You may stop using the Service and request account closure at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination we may delete or export your data in line with the Privacy Notice and any applicable retention rules.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may also bring claims in their local UK courts where the law allows.
Questions about these Terms can be raised through the support channel provided in the product or at onboarding. Questions about your personal data go to [email protected]. Security problems go to [email protected] rather than support — see /.well-known/security.txt.
